Reflexology of the feet is a method combining massage and acupressure techniques in order to help your body to restore its balance. Pregnancy Reflexology with Natural Induction techniques
Pregnancy Reflexology is perfectly safe from the second trimester. Working with you throughout your pregnancy may help induce labour and help towards a natural birth experience. Reflexology during maternity aims to optimise the health of the pregnant woman, concentrating on offering support for pregnancy related discomforts. As the due date arrives, reflexology may be used to prepare your body for labour, which may help to reduce delivery time, assist an easier labour and encourage contractions to begin without being artificially induced. Post Natal Reflexology
Post Natal Reflexology focuses on the endocrine system and how important it is to correctly balance the hormones. During the pregnancy the levels of oestrogen and progesterone are much higher than in non-pregnant woman. After birth these hormone levels drop within minutes and by the second day they are very low. This drop assists the return of tissues to the pre-pregnant state and may account for mood changes, which can be a difficult experience. Hot Stone Massage
Hot Stone Therapy with the option of Cold Stones.
This therapy is particularly beneficial for muscular aches and pains, stress related conditions, insomnia, and depression.
Hot Stone Massage is a deeply relaxing treatment that effectively releases stress and tension in the body. The heat of the basalt stones applied to specific areas of the body and incorporated in the massage, encourages the muscles to release toxins and improve circulation.
In my opinion, the most important benefit of Hot Stone Therapy is its psychological effects, as often heat makes us feel nurtured, relaxed, cared for and positive – attributes I’m hoping my clients to associate with my treatments. If my clients feel safe under my hands, their bodies relax enabling me to do vital therapeutic work without subconscious resistance.
The application of this therapy includes:
– massage with therapist’s hands warmed with hot stones,
– massage with stones themselves, after their temperature is safe to do so,
leaving the stones in place before moving to work on another area of the body, and stone placements on and under the body.
In certain cases, cold stones can also be used to help muscular injury and inflammation. They are great for facial massage to reduce puffiness and to improve lymphatic flow. Cold stones stimulate the nervous system by causing the blood vessels to contract and increasing the lymph flow of waste materials around the body.
Contraindications to the hot stone therapy include pregnancy, varicose veins, thin skin, high blood pressure, ulcers or any kind of skin disease or rheumatoid arthritis, MS.
Gifts of the Earth Massage treatments:
Warm Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter or Mango Butter Aromatherapy or Holistic Massage
Warm Cocoa Butter Massage uses heated pure Cocoa Butter derived from cocoa beans (Theobroma cocoa), a plant native to Amazon Rainforest, also gown in Africa, and tropical Asia. It can deeply nourish and hydrate dry skin, and as it is full of antioxidants it is considered a natural anti-aging gift of the earth.
This treatment will leave a subtle chocolate scent on the skin leaving the client feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. No surprise that its Latin name means “food of the gods”! Cocoa butter is beneficial for stretch marks and skin conditions like Eczema or Psoriasis. This skin-reviving, muscle-soothing, warm miracle butter treatment is a gateway to deep relaxation.
Shea Butter Massage uses shea butter, an African gem of the earth derived from the shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa), and it is very well known among those of us who suffer from upset skin. Shea Butter nourishes, and boosts skin moisture, stimulates the collagen synthesis, and conditions the skin. It is rich in Vitamins A&E, among other antioxidants, so it may help you to rebuild the skin.
Mango butter massage is one of my favourites from gifts of the earth treatments, due to its top-quality properties helping to deeply hydrate, moisturize your skin, and boost its elasticity. The mango oil is derived from the Mango Kernel fat (plant Mangifera Indica), and it has been used for centuries in Asia, and South America due to its rejuvenating effects on the health, and wellbeing. Mango butter encourages healthy hair growth by purifying the skin and strengthening its follicles. This butter can be infused with Mango essential oil for an ultimate uplifting experience! Yum!
Book Now: 60min, 90min, 45min, 30min (State massage type when booking).
